About

The Aikido Webzine is a space dedicated to Aikido (合気道) and Katori Shinto-ryu (香取神道流) swordsmanship, sharing stories of a healthy life lived alongside the martial arts. Born out of Jeju Oseung Dojang, this webzine records stories from inside and outside the dojo, creating content that both newcomers and long-time practitioners can enjoy together.

We introduce Aikido’s fundamentals and principles, the history of classical swordsmanship traditions including Katori Shinto-ryu, and how martial arts training can benefit the health and quality of life of seniors. From basics like breakfalls, breathing, the dogi (training uniform), and etiquette, to choosing a dojo and preparing for rank examinations — we aim to cover the stories that anyone curious about stepping through the dojo door for the first time would want to know.

Martial arts can be started by anyone, regardless of age or fitness level, and consistent practice brings deep changes to both body and mind. The Aikido Webzine shares the information and inspiration needed for that journey, hoping that more people will discover a healthy, vibrant life through the martial arts.
